Did you know the VA’s official disability list now includes more than 1,000 medical conditions that may qualify for service-connected disability compensation?
In this 2026 update, VA disability expert Brian Reese breaks down the entire VA Claims List from A to Z—organized alphabetically so you can easily search, find, and understand which conditions might make you eligible for monthly, tax-free benefits.
Pro Tip: This list includes both analogous and equivalent VA disabilities, so you’ll see additional conditions listed under their closest match in the VA’s rating schedule.
Let’s begin!
Table of Contents
Summary of Key Points
- The 2026 Master VA Disability Claims List is organized A–Z and links each condition to its Diagnostic Code (DC) in 38 CFR Part 4, the VA’s official Schedule for Rating Disabilities (VASRD).
- The core list contains 900+ named conditions; when you include the 101 analogous and 111 equivalent entries, the catalog surpasses 1,000 ratable VA disability conditions.
- Analogous conditions are rated under the closest-matching DC (per 38 CFR §4.20/§4.27), while equivalent conditions list alternate names that point to the same DC.

Analogous VA Disability List of Conditions
An analogous VA disability means a condition that isn’t specifically listed in the VA’s Schedule for Rating Disabilities but is rated “by analogy” to the closest condition with similar symptoms and functional impact.
For example, post-concussive headaches aren’t listed directly, but they can be rated under DC 8100 for Migraines, since the symptoms and rating criteria closely match.
Below is the fully updated 2026 list of 101 analogous VA disability conditions, organized alphabetically for easy reference:
Condition Name (Analogous) | Diagnostic Code (Linked to CFR) | Why This Code |
---|---|---|

Equivalent VA Disability List of Conditions
An equivalent VA disability means a medical condition that goes by more than one name but is rated under the same Diagnostic Code in the VA’s Schedule for Rating Disabilities.
For example, Addison’s disease is the same as adrenal cortical hypofunction, and both are rated under DC 7911.
Equivalent terms ensure veterans can find their condition in the list even if it’s recorded or diagnosed under a different medical name.
Below is the fully updated 2026 list of 111 equivalent VA disability conditions, organized alphabetically for easy reference.
