What the heck does that mean?
- First, you do not need to do anything if you see this message (they are internal VA notes between VA employees).
- Second, do not panic; it simply means your VA claim is moving toward completion.

What Does “We Closed the Notice for Request 6” Mean for My VA Claim?
The Veteran Benefits Administration (VBA) claims adjudicators use various internal notes inside VA.gov to communicate with each other to open and close certain tasks when developing your VA disability claim.
These internal notices include communications such as:
- We closed the notice for request 1
- We closed the notice for request 2
- We closed the notice for request 3
- We closed the notice for request 4
- We closed the notice for request 5
- We closed the notice for request 6
We closed the notice for request 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 are internal VBA notes from the VSR working on your claim.
They are telling the VA Rater (RVSR) one of the following:
- The VSR opened a request for more evidence
- The VSR opened a request for military records
- The VSR opened a request for a C&P exam
- The VSR closed the request for more evidence

You do not need to do anything if you see these types of requests – they are internal communications between VA employees.
If the VA needs something from you, they will let you know by sending you a letter in the mail and/or communicating with your accredited representative.
