Hi Veterans, Brian Reese here from VA Claims Insider here to talk VA disability compensation payment dates!
One of the questions I get asked all the time is this:
“Brian, I got my new VA disability rating thanks to you and your team. Do you know when I will start getting paid?”
Awe, very good question, and an important one for disabled veterans and their families.
For all VA disability compensation benefits, the actual benefit for a month is paid the first business day of the following month.
For example, the January 2019 VA disability compensation payment will be paid on February 1, 2019, which is the first business day of the following month, and it falls on a business day, so it’s a Friday.
When the first business day of the month falls on a non-business day or a holiday, VA compensation benefits will be paid on the last business day prior to the first of the month.
So if you’re a disabled veteran or a family member, I built this 2019 VA disability compensation payment dates cheat sheet tracker to help you know “when” your monthly tax-free compensation will be direct-deposited into your account.
Please note that you may get your direct deposit payment sooner depending upon your bank (e.g., USAA, Navy Federal).
