A little about Andrea
My name is Andrea Hickey, and I’m proud to be the wife of a U.S. Army Veteran who served multiple deployments to Afghanistan. Supporting my husband through the disability benefits process opened my eyes to how complex and overwhelming the system can be; and it also sparked a true passion for me. I realized how much I enjoy educating Veterans to navigate the process, speak on their symptoms themselves, and achieve the benefits and recognition they’ve earned and deserve!
I hold a master’s degree in counseling and spent several years as a therapist, specializing in mental health, addiction recovery, and eating disorders. My education, experience, and success rate allowed me to speak at national conferences regarding mental health and eating disorders.
Prior to my work in counseling, I served as the first-ever Performance Coach at a major company in Nashville, where I helped shift the workplace culture toward a strengths-based approach. That transformation led to measurable improvements in morale, mental well-being, and productivity across the organization.
I'm also a former actress who had the opportunity to work with J.J. Abrams and earned multiple Best Actress Awards along the way. I’ve always enjoyed keeping life vibrant, creative, and full of experiences. I have two energetic pups who also keep life active, joyful, and full of adventure!
Whether educating Veterans, clients, or teams, I’m passionate about educating people to grow, heal, and reach their goals. Many people have told me that my greatest strength—or “superpower”—is my ability to intuitively understand and connect with others, often seeing what they need before they can articulate it themselves.
